2012 2011 Season Summary: Peoria Woodruff Invitational 8th Place (in a loaded field). Warren Blue Devil Invitational Champions (for the third year in a row). Loyola Lakefront Invitational Champions (for the third year in a row). West Aurora Blackhawk Stampede 2nd Place MSL Conference Meet 5th Place IHSA Regional 4th Place (advances us to the Sectional). IHSA Sectional 7th Place (of 21 teams). IHSA STATE MEET - Kelly Breen = ALL STATE (18th Place). We are now counting down till next year's State Meet where we hope to qualify as a team. For myself and our Juniors this will be our last shot and we're going to work hard to achieve that goal. Till then, GOOD LUCK to all distance runners during the Spring Track Season. SUMMER RUNNING - Our summer school running camp through District 211 summer school is listed in the summer school catalog and all girls planning on running in the fall (including incoming freshmen) should sign up. The course code is Y218-01 for 1st semester and Y220-01 for second semester. Now, a FEW CORRECTIONS from what is listed in the catalog are necessary. The catalog says we will meet from 6:00am - 8:40am Monday through Thursday. Instead we will meet from 6am - approx. 8am Monday through Friday. And, any girl that is taking an academic summer school class will be dismissed at 7:10 to prepare for their 7:30 start. Every summer we have girls that both run at 6 and go to class at 7:30. So, taking an academic summer school class is no excuse from our summer running camp. Cross Country is a relatively short season and to compete at the level we intend to, a good summer is essential. Girls need to start the season Wednesday August 8 in shape and then we will take you to another level or two from there.
