Summer Computer Imaging
All computers
will be given a fresh installation (image) of
programs this summer. This process will erase
all files on the computer hard drive.
Consequently,
you will lose any
files, shortcuts, etc., that are on the computer
desktop.
These files should be moved to your H-drive.
Files you have stored on other network drives
(H, O, N, etc.) are not affected by the imaging
process.

Software
Please let me know about any new software,
e.g., text book software, or other special
software that needs to be installed on computers
you or your department members use. This will
also help me update the software/license
inventory. I will need the software and the
location of the computer(s) that will use the
software.
Please remember that the original piece of
software used for the installation must become
part of our inventory along with the original
license.

Retiring
Teachers
You may continue to use your D211
email account using
iNotes (aka,
Domino Web mail) via the
intranet
until the change is made to Outlook. I am not
sure how the use of Outlook will be handled with
retiring teachers. More information will follow
as it becomes available. I encourage you take
some time and remove email you no longer need
from your inbox and any other mail folders you
may have created.
You will certainly be missed around
here so please be sure to keep in touch!
Please note:
Your H-drive
will be retired when you do. Please let me know
if you would like assistance copying the
contents of your H-drive to a CD/DVD.

Teachers
Returning to Fremd or another D211 School this
Fall
Please use this summer to delete any unused
files. Every little byte helps us conserve
precious server storage space.
Moving to a new D211 school? Your
H-drive can follow you! Please let me know where
you are going and I will make the necessary
arrangements.
This is also a great time to begin 'cleaning'
out those emails encased in cobwebs. You know,
those from March of 2000. Extra email just
clogs up the District system so any reduction in
the amount of email you have would be most
appreciated. Other than that all will remain the
same for you! Enjoy your summer! I look forward
to seeing you in the fall!

Not Returning to Fremd in the Fall.
Your
email account will be closed soon after the
school year is over. Be sure to forward
important emails to another email system before
you leave Fremd. Also, be sure to copy files
from your H-drive to a CD or DVD before you
leave. Please let me know if I can help should
you have any concerns. Thank you for being a
part of Fremd High School! I wish you all the
