Technology Coaches are seen as a vital part in the area of technology integration into lessons. This is still a relatively new aspect of teaching that is yet to be fully explored. District 211 is mindful that teachers are ever exploring ways to make the best use of technology in order to improve teaching and learning.

Technology Coaches

Technology Resources for
Fremd Faculty and Staff

2011 - 2012 Technology Coaches:

Nicole LaBeau, Karen Clindaniel, Karl Craddock, Courtney Young, Mary Brotsos.

District 211 Technology Coaches are a group of dedicated individuals who are available to share their expertise in a wide variety of areas that involve technology integration. Technology Coaches are most effective when they are asked to*:

  • Observe classroom uses of technology and offer suggestions,
  • Help teachers create more opportunities for students to learn, supplement, and improve overall learning for students using technology, (great for RTI)
  • Help teachers create lessons that involve technology,
  • Help support Differentiated Instruction in the classroom,
  • Help increase the effectiveness of communication between teachers, between students, and between teachers and students,
  • Help teachers find technology solutions that help them with a particular teaching goal. This can include personal organization, classroom management issues, increase communication, collaboration among students, and increased student engagement, to name a few.
    • Help students learn to use different technologies they will take with them beyond High School,
    • Allow teachers to see technology being used in their classrooms or those of other teachers (don't be afraid to ask a teacher to observe their classroom!),
    • Assist teachers to bring to fruition ideas they have for technology integration,
    • Assist teachers with analysis of CLS data using the Apperson DataLink software.
    • Technology Coaches are well aware of the time it takes to bring technology into the classroom. They will work with teachers and students at a pace that is comfortable for everyone.
    • Some examples of web tools and resources Tech Coaches can help with are:
    • Blogs Nings Wikis
      Movie Maker Glogster Social Networks
Social Bookmarking Inking on the Tablet PC Student Collaboration using Online Resources
OneNote Online Organizers Effective Use of the Classroom Projector
      Podcasting Outlook Cell Phone Apps
Digital Storytelling Windows Live Classroom Performance System

    • Please contact Michael Bachrodt if you would like to have him or a Technology Coach provide you with an overview of these topics!

*Special thanks to Technology Coach Nicole LaBeau for contributing many of the ideas listed ion this page.
