| Deep Nines is a system District 211 has in
place to filter our internet content that may
not be suitable for viewing by students. The
software has a large database of words that are
used to flag websites containing them. The
website is then blocked from everyone who uses a
computer through the District network.
Sometimes, a website is blocked because it
contains a word but the word is not being used
in an offending way. When this occurs, a request
can be made to have the website
Unblocked.
Please open and fill out the form below.
Bring it to the Technology Coordinator, Michael
Bachrodt. He will review the web site and bring
it to the attention of the Principal who will
then authorize that it be unblocked. The paper
work then goes to the Director of Educational
Technology who will give final approval.
Should a teacher, student, or parent find a
website that they feel is unsuitable for
viewing, you may request the site to be
Blocked if it
is not already. It is important to check to
see if the site is already being blocked by
Websense by first testing it out on a District
211 netwoked computer. The process of
blocking a website is similar to that described
above.
