Dwight Aukee
|
Mr. Aukee was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin, graduated from Duluth Central High School, received his BA from Gustavus Adolphous College, and obtained his MA from the University of Chicago. Mr. Aukee has been at Fremd since 1975, has sponsored the Debate Team every year since then, and also teaches gifted and accelerated classes. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, foreign travel, reading, weight lifting, and riding one of his Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Henry Sampson
|
Mr. Sampson was born in Wilkesbarre, Pennsylvania, and graduated from St. Peter's High School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. His BA is from Quincy University and his MA is from DePaul University. Mr. Sampson began teaching in 1973 and came to Fremd in 1975. He teaches Advanced Placement, Creative Composition, Rhetoric of Cinema and gifted classes. For 31 years he has been the head Speech Team coach and has chaired the IHSA State Speech Tournament Committee for 5 years, and served on the state finals committee several other times. He also has been chair of the state speech coaches organization and has served on the board of the Illinois Speech and Theatre Assosciation. He has been closely involved in our Writers Week and is responsible for bringing Poetry Slams to Fremd. Mr. Sampson was honored as a nominee for the "Golden Apple Award." Mr.Sampson's outside interests include organizing a six-state Regional Poetry Slam, organizing two National Poetry Slams in Chicago (1999 and 2003) and has worked as the Tournament Director of The National Poetry Slam since 2002. He also serves on the board of Poetry Slam, Inc. is currently Vice-President. |

Jim Wyman
|
A native of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Mr. Wyman graduated from Crystal Lake Central High School and received his BA from Western Illinois University. He has an MS in Secondary Education and an MA in English from Northern Illinois University. Mr. Wyman came to Fremd in 1981 after 9 years in the radio business as a disc jockey, sports announcer, program director, and station manager. Mr. Wyman has served on district committees for writing and journalism and helped create the District Writing Style Manual and the Fremd Writing Style Manual. He teaches speech classes, sophomore English classes, and Advanced Placement. His outside interests include radio/television broadcasting, amateur astronomy, genealogy, and golf.

| Kevin Brewner
|
Mr. Brewner, a resident of St. Charles, Illinois, graduated from our sister school, Conant High School. He received his BA from Northern Illinois University and his MA from Columbia College. At Fremd since 1980, Mr. Brewner has served on the Staff Development Committee and teaches freshman, accelerated junior, and creative composition classes. He is also one of the inspirations behind our Writers Week and is a prolific writer in his own right. His outside interests revolve around golf and his family, with whom he visited Europe to view the solar eclipse in Salzurg, Austria. |
