MRS. ANGENETTE FUDALA

Vocals/Touring Experience

Have you ever wanted to spontaneously pick up an instrument and learn how to play it?  Mrs. Fudala says, “Go for it!”  This is exactly what she did when she was 22 years old and walked into Guitar Center on Clark and Belmont in Chicago.  A gleaming drum kit sat in the basement and beckoned her to purchase it, although she never held a drum stick before.  Months later, her band was playing their first show in the back of a take-out taco joint.  No, they did not get free tacos for playing.  Since then, her bands (Slacker, Silverado, The Objects) played shows around the U.S. – cities of note:  Omaha, Ithaca, Washington D.C., Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Richmond, Nashville, Ashville, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Kalamazoo and of course Chicago to crowds ranging from five people to over five hundred.

Her crowning achievement was opening a sold out show at The Metro for Local H, which paid her band a whopping $100.  She discovered that this band was a farce – there was another guitar player hiding behind a huge wall of amps.  Don’t believe the hype!  While on tour, Silverado acquired their biggest fan – Beatle Bob.  Female drummers might be a dime a dozen now, but when Mrs. Fudala was playing she was a rarity – and you’ve probably never seen a woman drummer who insisted on playing in steel-toed boots, have you?  In her down time between shows, Mrs. Fudala perfected her knitting skills and read many classic novels.
