Between 1960 and 1967, Fremd served as a freshman/sophomore campus for Palatine High School, but growth in Chicago's northwest suburbs necessitated the new four year school. Today, District 211 has five high schools: James B. Conant, William Fremd, Hoffman Estates, Palatine, and Schaumburg. District 211 is the largest high school district in the state of Illinois. The "Logue" has won the Northern Illinois Press Association's Golden Eagle Award for journalistic excellence eleven out of the last thirteen years. Columbia University in New York City also awarded the "Logue" its Medalist Certificate in 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, and 1992. |
