The Fremd High School English Department encourages student participation in state, regional, and national writing contests.  Fremd writers are recognized annually as contest winners, earning money, scholarships, and publication.  To access more information and contest entry forms, view the links below.

Jesse White's "Abraham Lincoln Birthday Bicentennial" Entry Form May 31, 2008 Imagine yourself in Lincoln's place.  What would you say to your fellow citizens to unite our country at this time of war?  In 300 words or less, tell what your ideals are for a nation of freedom, democracy and equal opportunity.
Mount Mary College Call for Student Papers Entry Form June 6, 2008 Mount Mary College is calling for essays and creative works of any topic, 2,000 words or less.
Creative Communication Poetry AND/OR Essay Contest Entry Form

Summer: August 14, 2008

Fall: December 11, 2008

Submit either a poem or an essay (250 words or less, non-fiction) to the contest for your chance to win one of the $3,000.00 in prizes or to have your work published.
The Student Perspective: My Transition Experience

 

Entry Form September 1, 2008 "The National Association for College Admission Counseling is offering $1,000 scholarships to high school or college students. The Journal of College Admission is looking for articles about the college admission process through the eyes of students."
