The Fremd High School English Department encourages student participation in state, regional, and national writing contests.  Fremd writers are recognized annually as contest winners, earning money, scholarships, and publication.

Submit either a poem or an essay (250 words or less, non-fiction) to the contest for your chance to win one of the $3,000.00 in prizes or to have your work published.
VSA arts Writing Project Entry Form November 20, 2009 What is the essence of an object or experience? What attributes and qualities are the most significant when you think about a person or thing? The 2010 VSA arts Call for Writing invites you to create a short work of fiction, nonfiction, or poetry that describes the essence of a moment, event, person, or object by concentrating on only one of its attributes.  NOTE: Students submitting writing must have a disability or a connection to people with disabilities.
First Freedom Student Competition Entry Form November 23, 2009 Please write an essay where you examine religious freedom, its history, current importance, and relevance in your life.  Win an award of up to $3,000.00!
Being an American Essay Contest Entry Form December 1, 2009 Write an essay that discusses what civic value you believe is essential to being an American .
Letters About Literature Entry Form December 12, 2009 This program invites 4th - 12th grade students to read a book that interests them and write a letter to the author explaining how the book changed their view of the world or themselves
EdTA's Arts Education Student Essay Competition Entry Form February 15, 2009 This contest is for inducted members of the Thespian Society.  The Educational Theatre Association will choose one essay winner based on the prompt, "How creativity can change the world."  If your essay is selected, you must be available to attend Arts Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C. April 12-13.  All expenses are covered.
