Past Continuous Tense

Definition:

1) The past continuous is used to express something that is happening at a precise moment in the past. For example, Jack was working on the report last night at 10.15.

2)The past continuous is most often used to express an interrupted action expressed using the past simple. For example, Janet was talking on the phone when I arrived.
