Fremd Algebra Test Sign-Up |

Your child is currently enrolled in M117
Algebra 1 or M217 Plane/Solid Geometry for the upcoming 2009-2010 school
year. Each spring we offer students enrolled in these courses the
opportunity to complete District 211's Algebra Skills Test. Students
who satisfactorily complete this 50 question multiple-choice test will
advance to M217 Plane/Solid Geometry or M218 Accelerated Plane/Solid
Geometry. This test is not mandatory. It should only be
taken if the student is currently enrolled in an 8th grade algebra course
and is looking to change the 9th grade math placement. Students who
elect not to take the test will maintain their current 9th grade math
placement. |

Students may use a non-graphing calculator
and are given a maximum of 75 minutes to complete the test. A list of
topics covered on the test is enclosed. In addition to those topics,
students are expected to have memorized and be able to use the following
formulas:
Quadratic
Pythagorean Theorem Area of rectangles, triangles and circles Slope

APPOINTMENTS FOR THE TEST ARE REQUIRED. The
Algebra Skills Test will be administered on the following dates:
Tuesday, May 12th, 2009 Wednesday, May 13th, 2009 Thursday, May 14th, 2009 |

The testing will start at 3:30 pm and will take place in Room 129 at Fremd High School. |

If you are interested in having your child
take the Algebra Skills Test you must provide the below information by
Monday, April 27th, 2009. Transportation to and from the test is
the responsibility of the parent/guardian. Each test will take place
in Room 129 at Fremd High School. |
