| Can I renew a book if I need it longer? |
Yes, you may renew a book once, for a second three-week period, if it is done on or before the due date. |
| What if I want a book that is already checked out? |
Use the online catalog to see if the book is owned by one of the other schools in the district. If another school has it, print out the information page from the catalog, put your name, ID number and teacher's name at the top of the page, and turn it in to the circulation desk.
If Fremd is the only school that owns that title, print out the information page from the catalog, turn it in to the circulation desk, and we will hold the book for you as soon as it is returned. |
| Can I check out a magazine? |
Yes, you may check out a magazine for one week, no
renewals |
| What happens if my books are overdue? |
You will receive up to three notices in your first period
academic class. If you still do not return the books, your name will
be turned over to your administrator for disciplinary purposes. |
| What happens if I lose a book? |
You will need to pay for it. Arrangements for
payment should be made at the circulation desk. If your book is
found, you will be issued a refund. |
| How much does it cost to make a Xerox copy? |
A Xerox copy costs 10 cents per page |
| Can I use any of the computers in the media center? |
Yes, under two conditions: 1) the computers have not
been reserved for a class and 2) you have your Fremd ID |
| Do I need my ID to use the computer? |
Yes, and if you wish to access the
Internet, your ID MUST be stamped with the red "W"
indicating parental permission. (If you do not have the red "W",
and would like to obtain a permission form, see your counselor.) |
| How can I print something out in color? |
You must obtain a signed permission form from your teacher
and bring it to the Technology Learning Center, which is where the color
printer is located. |
| Can I use the library databases from home? |
Yes. Go to the Fremd Media Center page, then click on the
"Research Databases" link. Select "Library Research Products from
Home" and input your ID number and last name, ALL IN CAPITAL LETTERS, in
the proper fields. |
