CONGRATULATIONS WIND SYMPHONY!!!

The Fremd Wind Symphony was awarded three straight "Division 1 Superior" ratings by all three collegiate judges at the Illinois State University "State of Illinois Concert Band Contest" on April 28th.  The band also received first place in the 6A Division (four schools), and the fourth highest score out of twenty three bands! 

The Fremd Wind Symphony was awarded three straight "Division 1 Superior" ratings by all three collegiate judges at the Chicagoland Invitational Concert Band Festival on Saturday April 14th.

Recognized as a Grammy Signature School Music Department for Excellence in Music Education

The FHS Bands consist of 265 students enrolled in the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Symphonic Winds, and Wind Symphony.  Extra-curricular ensembles that rehearse and perform outside of the school day include: Viking Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Lab Band, four pep bands, Winter Drumline, Brass Ensemble, and Flute Choir.  The FHS Music Department consists of about 500 students enrolled in four bands, three choirs, and three orchestras.  The FHS Bands are directed by Matthew Moore and David Lang.
