Concert Band information and reference recordings:

The Concert Band is made up of freshmen band students and meets 1^st period.  Primary focus of the Concert Band will be on the fundamentals of high school instrumental music both individually and through the ensemble.  Emphasis is placed on music reading, counting rhythms, tone production, ensemble playing, listening, and intonation.  The Concert Band will strive to help each student’s individual music proficiency and progress in the band program.  The Concert Band is directed by Mr. Moore and Mr. Lang.

Sectional Requirements for Concert Band:

1.  Students are required to attend a 20 minute sectional once every two weeks with the FHS sectional staff.  

2.  Attendance at these bi-weekly sectionals are part of each student's grade.  Students will not be able to make up missed sectionals - except if a student has a conflicting school activity that meets at the same time as the sectional (ex: make-up test).  If this does occur the student must inform either Mr. Moore or Mr. Lang one day prior to the sectional. 

3.  Students who do not have a lunch or study hall must do a bi-weekly sectional on their own time, and submit the record using the online sectional form (located at the bottom of this page).  If a student is absent during the day of a sectional they must also form their own sectional and submit the online sectional form.  If the student is unable to find additional students for a sectional then they should practice for 25 minutes and still submit the online sectional form.
