The Great Bridge Build!
This page is dedicated to the Fremd High School Intro to Physical Science bridge building project.
The purpose of this project is a culmination activity for our measurement and metric system units. The students must create a design to scale using the metric system. Furthermore they then build the bridge measuring precisely along the way. They then apply the scientific method to hypothesize about their experiment and to reflect on the experience.
Three prizes are given to the student groups:
1. The bridge that withstood the most mass
2. The bridge that had the lowest glue to mass held ratio.
3. The bridge that had the largest mass held to total mass ratio.
