Hello! I want to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself and my background. I grew up in Crystal Lake, Illinois with my parents and three younger brothers. I attended Crystal Lake South High School and graduated in 1995. While in high school I was involved in dramatics, music, the German club, and the Speech Team. From there I headed south...to Bloomington, Illinois where I spent five years studying at Illinois Wesleyan University. I graduated magna cum laude from IWU in the spring of 2000. While in Bloomington I was heavily involved in Student Senate, a social fraternity, and numerous other clubs and activities. It was a full five years for sure! I graduated with honors in history and education and was a member of three academic honor societies and two service societies. I have since completed two Masters degrees in Education. I definitely have to take a chance and especially thank the amazing educators that taught me so much and inspired me to enter this profession. To name of a few of the most important: Mrs. Mulvenna (3rd Grade South Elementary), Mrs. Judy Engebretson (Lundahl Jr. High), Frau Helga Berutti (CLS), Mrs. Gail Anderson (CLS), Mr. Bill Weller (CLS), and Mrs. Finkle (CLS). Without these amazing people and their love for their students and their content I may not be lucky enough to wake up each morning excited to go to work. Currently I live in Chicago, Illinois and this is my tenth year at Fremd High School. I teach Social Science Survey. My youngest brother is a senior at Augustana University, another brother is working on his undergraduate degree, and the other is an architect. I am an assistant speech coach, assistant director for the Variety Show, and President of the District 211 Teachers' Union. |
