ALL EVENTS MUST BE APPROVED IN ORDER TO COUNT AS VIKES HOURS

1) The Poplar Creek Prairie Stewards  - hold weekend workdays collecting seed and removing non-native vegetation.  We nurture old farm fields back into native tall grass prairie for Illinois plants and animals to once again call home.  Join us for a morning workday and feel good about your efforts to heal this portion of our planet!  Check us out at www.poplarcreekprairiestewards.org.  Location:  The Carl Hansen Forest Preserve on Route 59 between Golf and Shoe Factory Roads, Hoffman Estates.  Days wanted:  Every weekend - Alternating Saturdays and Sundays.  Hours:  9:00 am – 12:00noon  Contact Jill Flexman (Volunteer Coordinator) -847-836-7443... FYI - This can be used for an "event" or as a single agency should you choose do all of your service hours here!

2) May 26th - Race for Sincere Hearts 5k  to support the Thai Your Shoes organization, which raises money for an orphanage in Thailand and was started by Lisa Koenig -Fremd Class '09. To Volunteer contact Victoria Moroney at vrm24@hoyamail.georgetown.edu
