 A Message from the Principal

Many of us begin each new year by considering resolutions or reviewing goals we want to accomplish. Too often, these good intentions are set aside because we don't seek out the resources available to help us accomplish the task. If one of your goals is to help your child improve his/her academic achievement In 2006, I urge you to make use of the resources Fremd has to offer:

  • For research needs, our Media Center is open from 3:00-5:00p.m. on Monday through Thursday. Mr. Baima and Mr. Brewner are on hand to assist students in accessing available resources or getting started on that research paper or video project.
  • For extra help with homework, our Tutoring Center (Room 124) is open from
3:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Fremd teachers are available to provide help with homework, edit papers, or assist students in utilizing computer applications.
  • Freshmen students who are failing a class will automatically be assigned to a Guided Study Hall. This format differs from a traditional study hall in that class sizes are small enough to provide individual tutoring. Student grades will also be monitored on a weekly basis. We are currently making plans to incorporate a similar program for upperclassmen next year.

Showing an active interest in your child's school work will pay dividends not only in their grades, but in the positive habits and discipline they develop by staying on top of things.  Encourage your students to keep open lines of communication with their teachers by asking questions and seeking help when necessary.  Access teachers' websites to monitor academic progress or to see what work your student needs to complete. With your support, I know Fremd will continue to pursue high levels of excellence.

Sincerely,

-- Marina Scott, Principal

Online Parent and Student Access are Here!

9.01.06

WebGrade is no longer used by District 211.

High School District 211's new On-line Parent Access program is designed to allow parents access to their child's attendance, schedule, report cards, mid-term grades, daily grades as posted by teachers and demographic information for the current school year. The program also allows for communication between parent, counselor, and teachers regarding student progress. The program is intended for parent use. Parents may contact their student's counselor for username or to have their password reset. Counselors do not have access to current passwords. Parents are also encouraged to visit our Parent Access FAQ site for answers to most questions related to Parent Access.

Students now have access to their daily grades as posted by teachers through the new D211 Student Access. Please note that not all teachers post grades on a daily basis. Only teachers have access to usernames and passwords. Counselors do not have access to current passwords but do have the ability to reset them.
